Small CrittersA list of the small, overly common animals. Birds (owls included), Squirrels, chipmunks, bats, scorpions (more rare actually), ferrets, frogs, and all the lovely bugs you can imagine.
SnakesA long limbless reptile that has no eyelids, and jaws that are capable of considerable extension. Some snakes have a venomous bite. Usually found in the empty buildings and more near the forest, there are all types. From the simple green, to the large and poisonous. People should be wary of these animals, since they seem to have no fear towards the people that linger about.
DeerAny of various hoofed ruminant mammals of the family Cervidae, characteristically having deciduous antlers borne chiefly by the males. A common sight around Tartarus, usually found along the river and forest. Curious, they tend the venture around but always in a group, and become frightened easily. When the sunsets, the deer always rush back into the forest -- as if they know what is coming.
WolvesA wild carnivorous mammal that is the largest member of the dog family, living and hunting in packs. Not a very common sight. Only coming out during the night, they shy away from the people lingering about, instead keeping to themselves. They have yet to attack a human - but will be seen around corpses left by the monster. They do not seem to fear those beasts.
Cougars Also called: mountain lion a large American feline mammal, Felis concolor, that resembles a lion, having a plain greyish-brown coat and long tail. They are not a highly common sight around Tartarus, usually only spotted when one is lingering too close to the forest edge. Almost always on the hunt, a meeting with them usually ends in fight or flight.
BearsA large, heavy, mostly omnivorous mammal of the family Ursidae that walks on the soles of its feet, with thick fur and a very short tail. One of the most rare sights among this forgotten place. These large animals have only been spotted rarely by survivors who have been here long. They usually never leave the woods, but when they do, it means they are hungry and looking for a meal -- any meal. Again, this is a one in thousand chance.
